Welcome to BluPoint - proudly operating as Hardox Wearparts Centre Perth. What started with an idea to meet an urgent need in the mining industry has grown into a business that offers a wide variety of wear parts and services - focused on solving our customers problems and meeting their needs no matter the size or complexity. When it comes to repair, maintenance and consumables in the wear industry, we want to be your partner!

The story of how the idea behind Blupoint evolved speaks for itself. Graham worked as a maintenance contractor for heavy mining equipment at a mine in Pilbara, Western Australia. When a storm flooded the only road to the mine site, all shipments of spare parts and consumables stopped. Graham realized that the small stock of bucket teeth at the mine would soon run out, threatening a complete shutdown. He had to quickly figure out a way to reuse the worn bucket teeth.

He succeeded, and realised immediately that the solution using Hardox wear plate had great potential, but that it also had to be developed so it could be patented. Graham worked on development for several years while running his other business. In 2007 his hard work was crowned with success in the form of a patent and Graham founded BluPoint Pty Ltd.

Graham J Gibbon suddenly passed away on October 13, 2010. A few weeks earlier, his innovative approach had been nominated for the 2010 Swedish Steel Prize. Graham was described as an easy-going person, dedicated and creative designer with vast experience of practical problem-solving.

Today the company owns several patents and thousands of rebuilt G.E.T's have been supplied to several Tier 1 Miners in Western Australia such as Newmont, Rio Tinto and BHP Billition.

In 2013, SSAB acquired BluPoint Pty Ltd and today we are part of the global Hardox Wearparts Group. With more than 130 centers, and in more than 40 countries, we are the largest wear products and services in the world. Approximately 80% are owned by independent, private companies. The remaining 20% are owned and operated by SSAB (see below). This network gives us access to the cutting edge of material, advanced services, experience and knowledge. Read more on www.hardoxwearparts.com
